Using precision micro sensors, transducers and force actuators, we measured how a number of John John Florence’s “magic” boards performed in the lab, learning the unique signature of flex, torsion and numerous other data points.
Variable Stiffness Engineering.
This data capture helps maps where the board is stiffest and most flexible to provide the blue print for engineering and replication.
Surfing Simulation & Optimization.
In collaboration with Autodesk we use Fusion 360 advanced 3D software to digitally test out where to place the reinforcement filaments, similar to real world stress inputs.
Composite Spring Tuning.
From the tests we fine-tune the filament placement to ensure the final design is fully optimized to the riders specification.
The final design is meticulously hand crafted using advanced composite materials to create a fully engineered & optimized or 4D Supercharged craft.
